Reflecting on Tonight

Playing Minecraft as a part of tonight's class was very interesting, since today was my first collaborative Minecraft game play experience. Although the word "collaboration" sounds often easy and somewhat mundane to an extent, collaboration is a hard goal to achieve in these games. Classmates had small difficulties in coordinating with other classmates to build different components of the big constructions; some people were simply destroying things, while some people kept on building. Some novice mistakes, such as inconsistencies in building blocks, were also easy to spot. Yet, after tonight's class and the Minecraft experience, I have realized that when communication channel is well established, meaning that if communication channels are easily accessible during the game play, collaborative efforts can be highly efficient and expedient.
